The video focuses on the listening and speaking part of using language in unit 4 of book 2. Firstly, a short movie clip about dodo birds is shown to introduce the topic---a story of the dodo. Secondly, after listening twice and answering questions, students train their listening ability and thinking. Thirdly, a speaking task and expressions for intentions and purposes are given for students to make a plan on how to help the dodo, thus practicing their speaking. Most of all, questions related to reasons for animal extinction and the current condition of endangered animals are raised to arouse students’ awareness of importance and urgency of wildlife protection. Finally, through the activities in the listening and speaking part, students’ over-all English attainment is ensured.
